Bells on the organ?
Bells on the organ? |

Sunday, 13th June, was an opportunity not to miss for all those interested in music. I heard Peter Smith practicing earlier in the week for the recital he gave, and could not believe my ears. It sounded as though there was a set of bells up in the organ loft! Then some Schumann sounded like a cinema organ, and finally he played a number of variations on "Twinkle twinkle, little star" in each of which the organ again sounded like a completely different instrument. There were more surprises and delights in the programme, which was arranged to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of its inaugural recital by Richard Popplewell, which Peter Smith actually attended!
