christopher marathonSt Thomas's can be proud of our two Marathon Men:

Andrew Mitchell ran the course in 3:43:58, raising over £1000 for MacMillan Cancer Support in the process; Christopher Hobbs, the vicar, completed it in 4:51:49, raising over £2000 for the Alzheimers Society and around £300 for Kirima Parents' School in Uganda, which we support as a church. 

They each have personal reasons for the charities they chose, and donations are still coming in. Read more on their giving pages at virginmoneygiving/ChristopherHobbs for Christopher, and virginmoneygiving/Mitch for Andrew.

They were both enormously encouraged by the families and friends who shouted for them from the trackside, and the unknown members of the public who did the same.
