Space 2010: Lift Off - Holiday Club

space2010a The week after Easter saw us taking off on our yearly adventure, this time into Space. The church was transformed into the bridge of an inter-galactic starship. We voayaged beneath the stars, and a space shuttle orbited above.

Groups of stars, comets and meteors came together to have a fun time, and to learn more about Jesus and his friend Peter, the 'fisher of men'.

In small groups the 180 children who attended, retold the Bible story, and did a range of craft activities, from aliens to rockets. Games, quizzes, a daily soap opera drama, singing, aerobics and home made videos completed the rest of the programme.

The children joined in with space jokes, pictures and many dressed up on the final morning. Parents joined in on the Thursday night getting a taster of the programme, and again on Sunday as we touched back down to Earth with a family service.
