Gingerbread housesWe've kicked off the festive season with our ladies' Gingerbread House evening.  Did you know that Dutch children wait anxiously each year when Santa Claus visits their school on the 6th December, to see whether their name is written in the book of good children?  Laura Mugge, our guest speaker, filled us in on some Christmas traditions as well as encouraging us that we don't have to worry about whether we have been good enough to get our names in God's Book of Life - in fact none of us is good enough - but if we trust that Jesus has paid the price, our names are in the Book of Life.

If you want to join us for other events over Christmas, do have a look at the Calendar for details.  Here are a few pointers:

Saturday 11th December 8pm: "What's so special about Christmas" discussion evening.

Sunday 12th December 4pm: Christingle service (if you are able to bring a wrapped gift labelled with the appropriate age and gender, it will be given by social services to a child in the borough who would otherwise not get a gift).

Sunday 19th December 10.30am: Service with Nativity Pageant

Sunday 19th December 6.30pm: Carols by Candlelight

Friday 24th December 4pm: Carols round the Crib (ideal for families)

Friday 24th December 11pm: "Midnight with Mozart" Communion service with the choir.

Saturday 25th December 10.30am: Christmas All-Age Celebration
