As a church and as individuals we have a mission; as a church and as individuals we support missionaries - all of these are costly in time and financial resources, and these pages will fill you in.

We believe that the only way to forgiveness and salvation is through repentance and belief in the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through the teaching of God’s word, and through prayer, we depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to convince people of their need for Jesus and to help us to bear witness to Jesus Christ.

Money comes in mainly from private individuals' generous giving. Those who can give tax-efficiently increase the value to the church of their gift. The parish currently contributes more than its costs to the Diocese, covering the Vicar's wages, housing and pension costs, and also a share of the training costs for new clergy in the diocese. In addition we aim to give at least 10% of church income to support mission elsewhere: see Our Missionaries page for details.
If you would like to give through your bank, the details are on this document. |

We support a number of projects, beyond the work we do here in Oakwood. In the UK, St Thomas's contributes to the Church of England more than it receives back, as well as supporting numerous charities, both local and national. For example, our Summer Fair each year recently has raised money for a specific charity - in 2003 it was Christian Aid. But we also support individuals, both in regular prayer and financially: to find out more about them, click on the links below
...A bargain at the Summer Fair will help spread the light of Christ around the world! |
