Church Away Day
What is it? A chance for the whole church family to spend time together, and to refresh our vision and love for God. The away day is one of the highlights of the year so whether you are new to the church or a longstanding member, this event is for you!
Where? St John’s Downshire Hill, London NW3 1NU, approximately half an hour away. (Lifts available)
What will we do? In the morning we will gather together around God's word (starting at 10am). In the afternoon there will be various activities followed by a sit down meal and evening entertainment.
What will the teaching be on? The Christian life often feels like a contradiction: forgiven yet still struggling, free yet called slaves of righteousness, in Adam sharing in humanity’s fall yet in Christ sharing in his righteousness and life. We'll spend the weekend in Romans 5-6 exploring the life-changing reality that believers are united to Christ, and how this reshapes our identity, strengthens our fight against sin, and fills us with confidence to live the new life God has given us.
What about the children? There will be teaching and activities for children up to the age of 11.
What about food? Please bring a packed lunch in a cool bag. An evening meal will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when booking. We'll also ask people to bring a salad and cakes/baked goods to share.
What much it is and what is included? The day away is free! But if you would like to make a donation to cover the cost including the evening meal, the suggested amount is £20 per adult (nothing for children under 11) payable into the church account (Acc no: 60450863; Sort code: 40-11-58).
